By Robert Bush Calling contrabassist Mark Dresser a virtuoso is like saying Albert Einstein was good at math. Dresser arrived in San Diego in 1971 at the age of 20, to study with the formidable Bertram Turetzky. He was to continue that association off and on– for the next 10 years.
